Do you ever wonder

watchthefireworks:

how many people outside of the UK celebrated Guy Fawkes Day/Bonfire Night (Wikipedia!) before V for Vendetta?

I can’t imagine too many (and I don’t know if it’s that widely celebrated in the UK or not, Wikipedia isn’t that good) outside of hardcore historians.

Which begs me to question, did those hardcore historians get all pissy like music lovers did when Kids Bop made their first album? Did they go all anti-hipster on those of us who didn’t know who Guy Fawkes was before V for Vendetta?

I didn’t hear/see/read V for Vendetta until last year. But, I’ve been a die-hard Guy Fawkes day fan since about 5th grade when I learned that I shared my birthday with it. (I also found out we have 56 days of this year left today, which is apparently a good sign)

But I think I would agree with the whole hipster thing. It’s like a band before iTunes publishes a free single of one of their songs. Everyone who likes them afterwards is a total douche. (I, myself, am sometimes put into that category)

it makes me lose a little bit of faith in humanity.

There’s this guy who’s my friend giving a play-by-play update on the passing of his kidney stone. TM freakin’ I.

IS IT MR. GUICE?

DOES HE HAVE A FB?!

IS IT!?

MR. GUICE DOES HAVE A FACEBOOK. But it’s not him giving the status updates. I didn’t mind the kidney stone story, but status updates?! That’s weird.

Yeah, poor Mr. Guice though. I missed him yesterday. The stupid substitute thought we were idiots and ‘taught us’ what bullets were.

We were all “Really? Really now?” We’re IB students, not five year olds.
